Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Is there at all an optimal time to watch the sunset/go up on the 4th floor outward-facing courtyard of the JFSB in the early night? Every time I've tried to go up it's been locked, but it's not during the middle of the day. What are the hours?

A:

Dear Doesn't Everyone,

From my experience, when those doors are locked seems pretty arbitrary, and I'm not sure who I would ask to find out exactly when or why they're locked. If any reader knows something about this, please leave a correction!

But in any case, if we're thinking of the same balcony, it definitely faces east, so it's probably not the best place to watch the sunset from. But if for some reason you still want to be up there during sunset time, the sunset happens at a different time every day, getting earlier during the winter months, and it seems like the earlier in the afternoon it is, the more likely the doors are to be open, so you might be in luck as the days get shorter.
