Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

I'm trying to be better about not illegally streaming TV shows, movies, music, etc. Is a free crunchyroll account (where you don't pay, but you see ads instead) legal?

Thanks,

Razputin's girl

A:

Dear you,

Unfortunately (or possibly fortunately, depending on your perspective) the Board cannot give you legal advice.

~Anne, Certainly

A:

Dear Russian Queen,

Anne is Certainly right that we can't give you legal advice. However, Crunchyroll is owned by a subsidiary of AT&T and has partnerships with NBCUniversal and other companies, so I think it's a pretty safe bet that it's legitimate.
