Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,
I'm currently serving a mission and going home soon. I'm planning on going to BYU Provo or Hawaii in the summer semester next year. However, I haven't taken any tests such as SAT and English proficiency test necessary for the application since I'm an international student. I don't have enough time to focus on taking those tests now since I'm on the mission...
So my question is...I heard that If you are a missionary, you can ask for the postpone for the deadline of the application. Not sure if it's true or not...
Can anyone answer that for me?

A:

Dear Family Life Network,

I went ahead and talked to someone in admissions to make sure that I had the right answer, but BYU will not postpone any application or English proficiency deadline. Here's the actual message I got back:

"To answer your questions and give you some more info, there is no exception to the English proficiency test and application deadlines cannot be pushed back. However, since (you) want to attend in Summer 2018, (your) deadline is February 1st, which should be enough time to complete the application and all of its parts."

As for what you should do if that doesn't answer your question, I would first recommend first talking to your mission president. If your mission president is not familiar with what to do or how to help, you should email BYU at school_relations@byu.edu.

Keep it real,
