Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Do BYU employers have a way to check your GPA? Or do they just go off the one on your resume?

A:

Dear friend,

After you complete the application via the Student Jobs website, checking the "I agree to the terms and agreements" box states that you comply to an educational and background check. So BYU employers can look up your GPA if they want to. In general, though, it's not a great idea to exaggerate on resumes. Even if your employer doesn't find out, they stated those requirements so they could find a person best suited for the job. Putting the wrong GPA makes this process much harder for them.
