Dear 100 Hour Board,
Y'all are great! I've known about the Board since last fall, when I was searching on the BYU website (which is basically useless when it comes to certain information); luckily, I found a link to the Board and have been a regular visitor ever since. I even find myself reading questions and answers just to kill time. It appears, however, that I'm one of relatively few enrolled students who know about the Board. So, is the Board BYU's best kept secret? Do you want it to stay that way? And if you keep numbers (maybe not, because of anonymity), how many users sign up for the Board each day? How many are there total?
-Hopeful Board Hipster
I was hoping an editor or webmaster would answer this question, since they might have access to those statistics, but they haven't, so you get to hear my honest guess at the answers to all your questions.
Is the Board BYU's best kept secret?
I don't know, but it's the best-kept secret that I'm in on, which may or may not be a pretty low bar. Actually, there have been a couple of times that I wasn't being careful and a classmate or roommate found out I write for the Board just because they recognized the site layout.
Do we want it to stay that way?
Not necessarily. From what I understand, we're avoiding overt advertising right now because of some complicated stuff that I don't feel at liberty to discuss, but we're totally fine with people finding us through Google searches and word-of-mouth.
How many people use the Board every day and in total?
This is the part where an editor or webmaster would be able to give a better answer. Additionally, the number of people who sign up for the Board each day is probably very low but doesn't matter much because you don't need an account unless you want to ask a question.
