Whenever he thought about it, he felt terrible. And so, at last, he came to a fateful decision. He decided not to think about it. ~John-Roger and Peter McWilliams

Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

Because I like to live life on the edge, I eat raw cookie dough all the time. I'm not likely to stop anytime soon (gotta keep up my rep of being a daredevil risk taker.) However, as I baked cookies this morning I began to wonder... if there actually was salmonella in my cookie dough, how long would it be from the time I eat the dough until the time I begin to manifest symptoms?
As a side note, have any of you ever suffered negative consequences from eating raw dough?

A:

Dear Cookie,

The onset time for salmonellosis is 12 to 72 hours after infection, and it usually last four to seven days.

Dear person,

I eat raw cookie dough. So far, so good. So very, very good.
