Oh, there he goes off to his room to write that hit song "Alone in my principles."

Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

I tried to ask this question the other day and I don't know if it made it or not. Do you think music has always existed, was discovered or invented. I know like the first gregorian chants weren't until like the 1500's or something, but I'm talking like Old Testament times. Music? Invented, Discovered or Always Existing?

-Singing in the Shower

A: Dear Shower Singer,

According to the Psalms, yes, music was around as were instruments. David actually had a pretty decent voice for the time period, if he could sing for the king and wasn't killed for it. (And we think that booing is bad!) So, yes it existed in OT times. As for earlier, I can conjecture that it's been around since before time started, (if angels can sing at the time of Christ's birth, they probably could sing before then, too.) All the same, that is conjecture.

So, yes, concerning OT times, it was around.
