Dear 100 Hour Board,
In Pirates of the Caribbean, Commodore Norrington has only one curl on each side of his head. Most of the other members of the navy have two. Was this a symbol of rank at the time, or was it just something in the movie that had nothing to do with actual historical fashion? Also, when did men at that time switch to the white wigs over a brown wig?

It's just Disney's production design. And the shift in wig color came between 1800 and 1810.
