Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,

What is the little building on the rocky penninsula just below the Marin County side of the Golden Gate Bridge?

- Leonard Peregrine

A: Dear Leonard Peregrine,

The area you're referring to is called Lime Point, and that little building is an old lighthouse that was built in 1883. It's owned by the US Coast Guard, but hasn't been used as a lighthouse since 1961. It used to house two families. Nowadays, it's used primarily as a foghorn.
