Dear 100 Hour Board,
Who authored the Bible Dictionary, chapter headings in the scriptures, and the scripture study guide that is published in some versions/languages of the scriptures?

A: Dear Common Question,

The first LDS version of the King James Bible was published in 1979. Its footnotes, Topical Guide and Bible Dictionary were compiled by a committee of Mormon scholars and editors, under the direction of Thomas S. Monson, Boyd K. Packer and Marvin J. Ashton. Later, Elder Ashton was given another assignment and Bruce R. McConkie was appointed in his place. (http://www.lightplanet.com/mormons/basic/bible/lds_publication_eom.htm)

I assume that the chapter headings in the other standard works were similarly authored, if not by the same committee at the same time.
