"God sometimes does His work with gentle drizzle, not storms. Drip. Drip. Drip." - John Newton (Amazing Grace)

Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,
In the Spanish Hymnal there is a beautiful hymn that does not appear in the English hymnal. The song is called "Placentero nos es Predicar" The words go something like this:

"Placentero nos es trabajar
en la vina del gran Rey Jesus,
Y honroso nos es predicar
Su palabra, su ley, y su luz
[Chorus]
Por Su Luz, por su luz,
La Palabra de Dios Predicad.
Por su Luz, Por su luz
(Something--I don't remember)"
And then the last verse goes like this:
"O Hermanos, adios, pues adios
El tiempo de ir vino ya
Pero si tenemos la fe en el Gran Dios
Nos veremos con El mas alla.
[Second chorus with different words]
Mas alla, mas alla
nos veremos con El mas alla
Mas alla, mas alla
(Something--I don't remember)"

I fell in love with that song on my mission to Uruguay, and was always singing it. I just figured that the song didn't exist in English, and was always very sad about that. Then about a year ago my wife and I were watching "Benny & Joon", and the older brother in the movie starts singing that exact song to Joon, in English! Hooray! It exists in English too!

Anyways, please, please, please, what is the name of the song in English? I have been searching for the song in English for 5 years, and have never been able to find it (apart from that random time when Benny & Joon was on TV). If you can help, please do.

A: Dear A sincere-guy-yadda yadda yadda,
You really piqued my curiosity about mi himno preferido, so I did some searching myself. Incidentally, the title of the hymn is "Placentero noses trabajar", not "predicar". If you happen to have a Spanish hymnal, you see that the hymn was written by Andrés C. González, so there was no original English version. There may be English translations, but I don't think there is an official version. The hymn is not copyright protected, so anyone could write their own translation. But it still remains as the only hymn in the Spanish hymnbook that doesn't exist (officially) in English.
