Q:

Dear 100 Hour Board,
What is the Church's stance on the performance of baptisms for the dead for those killed in the Holocaust? How about those who somehow survived the concentration camps, but died later of natural causes?
- Someone with lots of Jewish ancestors

A: Dear Of-The-Tribe-Of-Judah:

If they're your direct ancestors, it's okay to submit their names for your own family work. But submitting names en masse is unacceptable. In fact, a few years ago, at the request of organizations of Holocaust survivors and relatives of Holocaust victims, the Church negated the work done for several thousand names done en masse, and that's where this policy came from.
