A: Dear Celebrity Mormon Hunter-

Yes, it is true. I had a friend who served a mission in Alaska, and he told me Steve Martin was a member in one of his wards there. While this member was a "Jerk," he was too young to be a "Father of the Bride." So yes, Steve Martin is a member of the church, but no, not the actor Steve Martin. Look at his recent movies - do you really think he'd be a member of the church? I'm sure he enjoyed his role opposite of Queen Latifah in "Bringing Down the House." Even better, his role as the adulterous dentist in "Novacaine." Maybe Richard Dutcher will get him to play Oliver Cowdery in his new movie - with Val Kilmer as Joseph Smith. Now that would launch Mormon movies into the spotlight.
