Dear 100 Hour Board,
I have always heard that the term OK originated with President Martin Van Buren as a campaign publicized. His nickname was Old Kinderhook (I think Kinderhook is the town where he was from). It somehow evolved from that to its present meaning as yes, correct, good, etc. Also, no other expression has ever been assimilated into the English language more quickly then OK.
