CDear Dust in the Wind,

What a great question!   This is in response to Board Question #51348

Your situation is not at all uncommon at BYU.   I want you to know that you are not alone.   I also want to let you know about NorthStar, an email group for faithful LDS members who are gay or have close friends who are gay.   Faith-promoting discussions are had there, and it is an extremely loving, understanding, respectful environment.   It has been a wonderful resource for many people in your situation. Check it out: http://northstarlds.org/

Also, BYU's own free counseling can be a great place to go.   As you can imagine, they get tons of situations like this.   In the Wilk just go right underneath the Career Center.   It's kind of not marked (maybe to be sensitive to those walking in?).   All the best to you!

- You're Not Alone
